Leveraging a Lifetime of Helping Others in a Career as a Workers’ Compensation Attorney
Tyler Bridenstine is an Associate Attorney at NRS Injury Law, focusing on workers’ compensation law. Throughout his life, Tyler has embodied an ethos of service in his many career roles, philanthropic endeavors, and volunteer activities. Today, Tyler helps injured Ohio workers obtain the compensation they need to get their lives back.
Building on a Background in Service
“There’s a lot that brought me to where I am today, but two things stand out the most,” Tyler said, describing how he became a workers’ compensation attorney. “I joined the workforce as a teenager, and I took jobs at McDonald’s, local factories, and industrial cleaning outfits.” Tyler went on to describe that his work in jobs with high injury rates combined with his family’s core value of always seeking to help others led him to pursue workers’ compensation law shortly after passing the bar in 2023.
Before joining NRS Injury Law in 2024, Tyler leveraged his skill set in a number of ways to help others. While pursuing his undergrad at Kent State and then Ohio State, Tyler realized he wanted to help people via the legal profession. He quickly shifted his employment focus from factory work to any legal internship he could find. For example, his role as President of the Health Law Society and his Health Law Certificate made him a natural asset in internships and clerking roles at Community Legal Aid and similar organizations.
Working-Class Roots Led to a Role Representing Working Ohioans
“Most people in the communities where I’m from don’t have the resources they need when confronted with a legal issue connected to healthcare, real estate, or employment,” Tyler said, ticking off on his fingers the various legal areas where he’s spent time helping people, mostly in rural Ohio communities. “I decided early on I wanted to be an attorney so I could help the hardworking Ohioans I grew up with.”
Tyler continued. “I joined NRS Injury Law because this firm puts client results as the ne plus ultra objective—which isn’t always the case with law firms. The NRS Injury Law ethos is that results matter, and when you focus on getting results for clients, you’ll always have an office with your name on it waiting for you come Monday. But it’s the client results that’s the critical point. You have to focus on putting the client first, delivering for them, and ensuring their trust in you is well-deserved. NRS Injury Law does that.”
Work/Life Balance
When he’s not working or volunteering, Tyler spends his free time bowling with friends, family, or colleagues. He enjoys exercising at the gym, frequenting local restaurants, and catching flicks at the movie theater with his wife. The pair live in Columbus with their two dogs. When they’re not exploring the sights and sounds of the city, they’re taking annual anniversary vacation trips or quick weekend getaways to Chicago, Vegas, D.C., or Toronto, to name a few.
