Drawing on a Background in Public Service to Help Injured Ohio Workers
Benjamin Russo is an Associate Attorney at NRS Injury Law, focusing on workers’ compensation law. As an excellent communicator and someone who can naturally relate to clients and understand the nuances of their cases, Benjamin provides unparalleled representation while helping Ohioans who’ve been injured in the line of work.
A First Generation Attorney Dedicated to Showing Up for Working Ohioans
As a young man, Benjamin entered the workforce as a pharmacy technician at a grocery store in Western New York. While later serving as an intern at the Robert H. Jackson Center, Benjamin learned how Robert Jackson went from small-town attorney to Supreme Court Justice and all the people Justice Jackson helped along the way. From that experience and others like it, Benjamin became inspired to dedicate his life similarly to the law and to helping others.
“That small town attorney to Supreme Court Justice story always stuck with me,” Benjamin said, reflecting on his life’s trajectory into the legal field. “My internship at the Robert H. Jackson Center inspired me to pursue a legal career with a focus on service. Before I knew it, I was a first-generation attorney passing the bar, ready to help others.”
Utilizing Communication Skills and Team-Building to Win Cases for Clients
The son of a firefighter and a public school teacher, Benjamin learned early on the value of public service, hard work, and dedication to one’s community. Sadly, he also saw first-hand how many of his neighbors became injured on the job or experienced occupational diseases. Often, Benjamin’s community members were left with little recourse in those situations. After taking a law and civil liberties course in community college, Benjamin knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to help people through a career as a plaintiff’s attorney.
A people person at heart, an excellent communicator, and an advocate for those who’ve experienced injustice, Benjamin fits right in at NRS Injury Law. “There’s a high degree of specialization here,” Benjamin said when asked about his decision to join the firm. “It’s uncommon in the legal field to find a firm this large that fully dedicates itself to representing injured workers. Most firms will try to tack on workers’ comp as an aside, but not give it the attention it’s due. This firm has the personnel and resources to show up for injured workers and ensure justice is delivered.”
Work/Life Balance
When he’s not working, Benjamin likes to go golfing with his friends. He’s also attended organized golf outings with other attorneys. Benjamin hikes, cooks new and interesting recipes every week, and plays tennis. He also enjoys experiencing the sights and sounds of Cleveland.
