Providing Empathetic Counsel and Relentless Advocacy to Win Benefits for Injured Workers
Evangelos Sisalouis is an Associate Attorney at NRS Injury Law, focusing on workers’ compensation. A skilled trial attorney, Evangelos is someone who can provide a kind, personalized, and empathetic approach to his clients but at the same time leverage relentless, ardent, and unwavering tactics in court, making him a boon to the NRS Injury Law team.
Exemplifying Philotimo, the Greek Principle of Honor, Integrity, and Justice
From childhood, Evangelos knew he wanted to pursue a career of advocacy, service, and justice, a role in which he could live out the Greek philosophy of Philotimo that he holds so dear. Born in the United States but raised in Greece, Evangelos draws on a deep background in ancient principles, and, supported by his multilingual grasp of English, Greek, and Ancient Greek, has dedicated his life to helping Ohioans injured in the line of work.
“My family are all union bridge painters, doing the hard, dangerous work needed to keep our bridges in great shape,” Evangelos said, chuckling as he described his background and how he became an attorney. “Me being here seems like the most unlikely thing ever, but it didn’t happen by accident. My father was an orphan who came to the U.S. during the Greek military junta. His life was always challenging. He got injured right before I was born and has spent every day since on workers’ comp. I’ve seen first-hand how complicated and difficult the workers’ compensation system is and how it requires skilled advocacy, so from a young age I vowed to do something of service and help the working-class Ohioans I grew up with.”
Tenacious, Dedicated, and Committed to Getting Results for Injured Workers
Evangelos accumulated thousands of hours in the legal field before going to law school, thanks to an important role at the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas. “I interned and clerked there for years, and one of my most pivotal experiences was getting the county caught up on its multi-decade backlog in deposition files,” Evangelos said. “I read and filed thousands of depositions in that time, which helped me develop sharp research skills and a profound understanding of the law before I became an attorney.”
Today, Evangelos is relentless in his trial work, focusing on the litigation side of workers’ compensation law. He draws on an extensive legal background that includes administrative work for Mahoning County, work as a legal interpreter, personal injury work as a trial attorney, truck-related injury work as a litigation attorney, and his current role at NRS Injury Law, where he represents injured workers from all fields and occupations.
Work/Life Balance
Evangelos balances work and life by dedicating his out-of-office hours to his fiancée and their shared hobbies (board games with friends are a recurring favorite). Evangelos also spends his free time building computers, exercising at the gym, and 3D printing his latest creative ideas into existence.
